Why we show you the losing quote

Tadswap ResearchPublished 22 Jul 20262 min read

The problem with “best rate” claims

Every aggregator claims the best rate. Almost none show you the rates that lost. Without the losers, “best” is unfalsifiable — you're trusting a label, not reading a result.

So the comparison stays open: the winning quote and the runner-up, side by side, fees included. When only one provider quotes a pair, you see that too, plainly labeled — a race of one is a fact worth knowing.

What showing it costs us

Publishing the runner-up means we can never nudge you toward a route that pays us more, because you'd see the better number sitting right there. That constraint is deliberate. It converts a marketing claim into a checkable receipt, and it keeps our incentives pointed the same way as yours.

How the race actually works

When you enter an amount, every configured provider that supports the pair is asked for a live quote. Valid responses are normalized and ranked by quoted output, readiness, rate mode, and operational health. Providers that don't respond to the live scan simply aren't shown — absence over invention, as everywhere else on the site.

Questions this article answers

Does Tadswap ever add a markup to the winning quote?

No. The rate you see is the provider's rate, fees included. Tadswap earns a commission from the exchanges on their side of the trade — the fees page shows the full flow.

Why do I sometimes see only one provider?

Only providers that respond to the live scan for your exact pair and amount are shown. A single quote means one provider was able to route it at that moment — that fact is shown rather than padded.
